The OPA congratulates the Peel Paramedic Association for initiating
the Emergency Medical Profile 4 EMS program. This unique information
kit consists of a vehicle sticker and information packet which is
attached to a child's car seat and provides emergency responders with
the child's medical information should the parent or guardian be unable
to provide this information in a vehicle collision or other emergency.
It is hoped that this program will be promoted and recognized nationally
by all Paramedics.

Emergency kit for babies
Designed by paramedics to assist in emergency response, the EMP4EMS (Emergency Medical Profile) card provides vital information to emergency personnel tending to an infant in a car seat.
The kit contains a card inside which parents put a recent photo of the child, contact information, blood type, medical conditions, allergies and medications as well as the doctor's name and number and emergency contact information. It fits in a plastic sleeve that is attached to the car seat with Velcro.
There are also two stick-on decals for the front and rear windows of the vehicle to alert paramedics to the card inside.
Available from Safety Superstores for $14.95.

Medical Profile to Go
Small Talk
City Parent
No one likes to contemplate being involved in an automobile crash but we do take certain precautions. A new car seat ID kit goes one step further -- it speaks on behalf of a child whose caregiver is unable to respond due to injuries or being taken to a different medical facility. The Emergency Medical Profile 4 Emergency Medical Services (EMP 4 EMS) is designed by paramedics for paramedics. It consists of a card to be filled in by the parents with the child's name, photo and medical information, a protective plastic shield, adhesive backing to attach to the car seat and EMP 4 EMS stickers to be placed on the front and rear windshields. KeepSafe Canada is distributing the kits, designed in partnership with the Peel Paramedic Association. The child safety organization launched the product across the country this summer and has made a huge effort to ensure paramedics in Canada are familiar with the product and how to use it. Kits retail for $14.99. For information contact KeepSafe Canada at 905-655-1844 or visit www.keepsafecanada.com.
